O verbo modal "can" expressa capacidade e é invariável: nunca recebe -s, mesmo com he, she ou it. Depois dele vem sempre o verbo na forma base, sem "to". Assim, "cans" e "to can" estão errados por não existirem como formas do modal, e "can to" acrescenta um "to" indevido antes de "hear".
