Pandas: passado simples regular (A2)

Fifty years ago, very few giant pandas lived in the mountains of China. Then the government ___ several large parks and stopped people from cutting the bamboo forests. Slowly the number of pandas grew again. Today baby pandas are born in special centres, and some of them return to the wild when they are strong.
