As afirmativas II e III se apoiam no mesmo trecho: nenhum dos dois quis manusear a isca — “I don’t want to touch these worms” e “I’m not gonna spear any worm?” — e daí veio a decisão de “dump the worms in the water”. A I cai porque não há desacordo sobre a rede: Haroldo aprova o plano com “Pretty smart, huh?”. A IV cai porque a tira nunca diz que eles não sabiam iscar o anzol; Calvin sabe o que é preciso fazer e pede que Haroldo faça. O distrator mais forte é o que junta I e IV, trocando recusa por incapacidade.
