A Morning at the Zoo: resenha crítica de uma visita (B1)
I visited the new city zoo expecting the sad cages of my childhood, and I was wrong. Most enclosures are wide, with real vegetation, and information panels explain where each species comes from and why it is threatened. The staff are clearly well trained. My criticism concerns the elephants: the area is simply too small, however green it looks. The restaurant is also overpriced. Still, the section on local reptiles is excellent and free of the usual sensationalism. If you go, arrive early; after eleven o'clock the paths become crowded and the animals hide.
