Depois de conectivos temporais como “as soon as”, “when” e “until”, o inglês não usa “will”: o verbo fica no presente e o futuro aparece só na oração principal — “I will call you as soon as my work is finished” (A). B é exatamente o espelho do erro: põe “will finish” na temporal, onde ele não pode entrar, e ainda joga a principal para o passado (“called”). D e E usam tempos perfeitos na principal (“had called”, “have called”), que descrevem algo já ocorrido e não combinam com uma promessa. C narra em passado contínuo (“was calling”) e não faz par com “is finished”.
