Whales: verbo seguido de infinitivo (B1)

Whales are the largest animals that have ever lived on Earth, bigger even than the dinosaurs. During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, industrial fleets hunted them for oil and meat until several species almost disappeared. In 1986 most countries agreed ___ commercial whaling, and some populations have slowly recovered since then. New dangers have appeared, though: collisions with enormous cargo ships, plastic in the stomach and underwater noise that confuses their communication. Scientists have also discovered that whales help the climate, because their bodies carry huge quantities of carbon to the deep ocean.

Assinale a alternativa que completa corretamente a lacuna do texto.

  1. A) stopping
  2. B) stop
  3. C) to stop
  4. D) to stopping
  5. E) stopped
Ver gabarito comentado

Resposta correta: C
