Crocodiles: preposições dependentes (B2)

The recovery of several crocodilian species is one of the least celebrated successes in conservation. In the 1970s the spectacled caiman of the Pantanal was being slaughtered on an industrial scale for the leather trade, and the American alligator was formally listed as endangered. Regulated ranching changed both stories: farmers were allowed to harvest a proportion of eggs from wild nests, on condition that a share of the hatchlings was returned to the marshes. Because the wetland became a source of income, it stopped being drained. Critics of the model insist ___ far tighter monitoring, arguing that quotas are easy to write and hard to police, and that the same mechanism collapses quickly wherever inspection budgets are cut or officials are poorly paid.

  1. A) in
  2. B) on
  3. C) at
  4. D) for
  5. E) about
Ver gabarito comentado

Resposta correta: B

"Insist about" confunde o verbo com estruturas do tipo complain about.
