Pandas: verbo de relato para hipótese (C2)

No animal has been more thoroughly conscripted. The panda is a logo before it is a bear, and the logo has done real work, since money has been raised, habitat bought and treaties signed, at the cost of turning a living thing into a permanent invitation to condescend. The condescension is usually dressed as biology: an animal that eats what it cannot properly digest, that reproduces reluctantly, that seems to be managing a slow and dignified withdrawal from the business of existing. Some biologists ___ that the dietary corner is not a failure at all but an unusually stable bargain, with abundant food, few competitors and a low-energy life that has persisted for millions of years, though the proposition is far easier to state than to test, and the fossil evidence permits several stories. What is certain is that the mockery says more about us than about the bear. We admire efficiency because we are anxious about scarcity, and we read an animal that spends fourteen hours a day chewing as a creature failing at something. It is not failing. It is doing the only thing it has ever done, in the last forests where doing it remains possible.

Assinale a alternativa que completa corretamente a lacuna do texto.

  1. A) concede
  2. B) posit
  3. C) recant
  4. D) lament
  5. E) attest
Ver gabarito comentado

Resposta correta: B
