Tea or coffee: colocações (B2)

Tea and coffee are grown by roughly twenty-five million smallholders, most of them farming less than two hectares, and both crops share a structural problem: the value is added after the farm gate. Roasting, blending and branding happen in consuming countries, which is where the margin stays. Certification schemes were designed to correct this, and the evidence suggests they ___ a modest difference to household income when prices collapse, mainly because the guaranteed minimum acts as a floor. Their limits are equally clear: certification costs money to obtain, the premium is often paid to a cooperative rather than an individual, and a label cannot compensate for a harvest lost to drought or leaf rust. Climate change is now pushing suitable altitudes upwards, which no consumer decision can reverse.

Assinale a alternativa que completa corretamente a lacuna do texto.

  1. A) do
  2. B) make
  3. C) take
  4. D) bring
  5. E) give
Ver gabarito comentado

Resposta correta: B

"Take" e "give" formam outras colocações (take a decision, give an example) e não se aplicam aqui. "Bring a difference" não existe em inglês padrão; o que existe é bring about a change.
